Vape Coil Types

Vape coils come in different types, and they can be categorized based on material and vaping style (MTL vs. Sub-Ohm).

Coil Materials

• Kanthal: The most common coil material, inexpensive and reliable. It's ideal for standard wattage mode but doesn't work in temperature control.
• Stainless Steel: Versatile and can be used in both wattage and temperature control modes. It offers durability and can provide a balanced vaping experience.
• Titanium: Used primarily for temperature control. It heats up quickly and maintains consistent vapor production. Though more expensive, it lasts longer than Kanthal.
• Nickel: Exclusively for temperature control, preventing dry hits and burnt wicks by maintaining a set temperature.
• Mesh: Made from a mesh sheet, it has a larger surface area, allowing for faster and even heating. It produces rich flavour and is ideal for sub-ohm vaping.
• Ceramic: Retains heat well and is long-lasting, but takes slightly longer to heat up compared to metal coils. It’s excellent for consistent flavour.
• Nichrome: A softer metal that heats quickly and is popular for cloud chasing. It offers lower resistance and works well in sub-ohm builds.
  
  

MTL Vs Sub-Ohm Vape Coils

• MTL (Mouth-to-Lung): These coils have higher resistance (above 1.0 ohm) and are designed for a tighter draw, mimicking the sensation of smoking. MTL coils are typically used at lower wattages and have restricted airflow, making them ideal for those who prefer a more traditional, cigarette-like experience.
• Sub-Ohm: These coils have lower resistance (below 1.0 ohm) and are designed for direct-lung vaping. They allow for higher wattages, greater airflow, and produce massive clouds of vapor. Sub-ohm coils often use materials like mesh, titanium, or nichrome and are favored by cloud chasers and those seeking intense flavour.
